Setting a default account in Recur for multiple associations

Last updated August 5, 2026

Objective

This guide explains how to set a Default Vendor Account within Recur. This is a critical configuration for users who manage multiple organizations or associations, ensuring that the system automatically opens your primary account upon login.

Key Steps

Step 1: Access Your Profile Settings

  • Navigate to the top right-hand corner of the Recur dashboard.

  • Click on your Profile Icon (this will display your profile picture if one is uploaded, or your initials if not).

  • Select My Profile from the dropdown menu.

Step 2: Navigate to the Accounts Section

  • Once on your profile page, scroll down to the section labeled Accounts.

  • This section lists every Vendor (association or organization) that you are authorized to manage within the Recur platform.

Step 3: Configure the Default Vendor

  • Identify the association you want to set as your primary workspace.

  • Locate the Default Vendor column on the right side of the account list.

  • Click the Toggle switch next to the desired association to turn it "On."

Step 4: Verify the Default State

  • Once the toggle is activated, that organization is now your default.

  • Effect: The next time you log into Recur, the system will bypass the account selection screen and log you directly into this specific vendor's dashboard.

Cautionary Notes

  • Single Selection: Only one association can be marked as the "Default Vendor" at a time. Activating the toggle for a new organization will automatically deactivate it for the previous one.

  • Account Switching: Setting a default does not lock you out of your other organizations. You can still switch between vendors manually once logged in, but the default setting simply streamlines your initial access.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Streamline Your Workflow: If you spend 90% of your time managing one specific association, setting it as your default will save you time every day by removing the need to manually select your organization during the login process.

  • Initial Setup: If you are a new user managing multiple sites, make this one of your first steps to ensure your "Home" base is always the one you expect to see.
