Adding media to the library
Last updated August 4, 2026
Objective
This guide explains how to organize and manage the Media Library within Recur. Setting up a centralized library allows you to store images and files in a structured way, making it easy to pull media into your website pages, emails, and event descriptions without needing to re-upload files every time.
Key Steps
Step 1: Access the Media Library
From the Recur home screen, navigate to the top menu bar.
Click on Tools.
Scroll down the list and select Media Library.
Step 2: Create a New Folder
Look to the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Click the + Create Folder button.
Enter a name for your folder (e.g., "Example" or "2026 Annual Conference") and save it.
The folder will automatically populate in your library view.
Step 3: Organize with Subfolders
Click on the folder you just created to open it.
You have the option to further organize your content by creating subfolders inside the main folder. This is useful for separating "Logos" from "Event Photos," for example.
Step 4: Upload Media Files
Within your desired folder or subfolder, use the Upload option to add files directly from your computer.
Once uploaded, these files are securely stored and ready for use across the entire Recur platform.
Cautionary Notes
File Naming: Give your folders and files clear, descriptive names. This ensures that other team members can easily find the correct media when building emails or website pages.
Storage Safety: Using the Media Library as a "one-stop shop" ensures your files are saved within the Recur ecosystem, preventing broken image links that can occur if you delete files from external hosting sites.
Tips for Efficiency
Batch Uploading: When you first start using Recur, upload your association’s primary brand assets (logos, headshots of board members, standard banner images) immediately. This makes future design work much more seamless.
Seamless Integration: By organizing your media now, you can quickly "Browse Library" when using the Hero or Card components in the Page Builder, rather than searching your local computer every time.
Future-Proofing: Maintaining a clean folder structure (e.g., organizing by year or event type) saves significant time when you need to reference or reuse media for recurring annual events.
