Objective
This guide walks through how to create, build, and send an email campaign using Recur’s Email Campaign tool.
Key Steps
Accessing Email Campaigns 0:08
From the homepage, click Engage.
Select Email.
Click Email Campaigns.
Starting a New Campaign 0:25
Click New Campaign.
Recur will guide you through a five-step process to send your email.
Step 1: Campaign Setup 0:32
Enter a Campaign Name (internal use only).
Select an Email Template (e.g., Basic Template).
Choose the From Email Address.
Custom email domains can be connected to Recur if needed.
Step 2: Selecting Recipients 0:55
Choose one of the following recipient options:
Individual Contacts: Select contacts manually and move them to the recipient list.
Groups: Select a saved group to target specific audiences.
Dynamic Criteria:
Set rules (e.g., Contact Type = Active Member).
Recur will automatically find all eligible contacts matching the criteria.
Step 3: Subject Line & Preview Text 1:43
Enter an Email Subject Line.
(Optional) Add Preview Text.
Personalization tokens (e.g., First Name) can be added.
Review the inbox preview.
Step 4: Building the Email Content 2:08
Use the drag-and-drop editor to build your email.
Click the plus (+) button to add content blocks such as:
Text
Images
Events
Sections
Tips for Editing Content:
Drag and drop an Event block to automatically populate event details and a signup button.
Upload images and logos directly into Recur.
Single-click an image to adjust alignment and size.
Double-click an image to edit or replace it.
Step 5: Review & Send 3:42
Preview the email to ensure formatting and content are correct.
Send yourself a test email before sending to a large audience.
Click Send.
Choose to:
Send Now, or
Schedule for Later.
Choosing a Send Speed 4:02
Select a sending speed:
Ultra Safe (slowest)
Balanced (recommended)
Expedited (fastest)
Slower speeds help prevent spam filters from flagging your emails.
Confirm to send the campaign.
Cautionary Notes
Sending emails too quickly to large audiences may trigger spam filters.
Always review recipients and content before sending.
Tips for Efficiency
Use Groups or Dynamic Criteria to streamline targeting.
Send test emails to catch formatting or content issues.
Use personalization fields to increase engagement.
