Logging into the member portal
Last updated August 5, 2026
Objective
This guide walks new association members through the process of setting up their password and logging into the member portal for the first time. Because Recur matches accounts based on existing records, using the correct email address is the most important step.
Key Steps
Step 1: Navigate to the Portal
Go to your association's public website.
Click the button labeled Log In, Member Portal, or your organization's custom portal link (typically found in the header or main navigation menu).
Step 2: Access the Registration Page
On the sign-in screen, ignore the username and password boxes since you don't have them yet.
Look below the login fields for the prompt: "Don't have an account? Create one here."
Click Create.
Step 3: Enter the Matching Email Address
Type your primary email address into the field.
Critical Rule: You must use the exact email address you provided when you originally signed up or registered to become a member of the association. Recur uses this email to securely link your portal access to your existing member benefits, dues history, and profile.
Step 4: Verify Identity and Set Password
Click Continue.
Open your email inbox and look for a digital verification message sent by the system.
Copy the unique verification code from that email, paste it back into the portal verification screen, and proceed to choose a secure password.
Once saved, you will be automatically logged into your personal dashboard.
Troubleshooting & Help
"Email Not Found" Error: If the system says your email isn't recognized, you might be using a different address than the one on file (e.g., a personal email instead of a work email).
The Fix: Reach out to one of your association's board members or administrative staff. They can instantly pull up your contact card in their Recur dashboard and tell you exactly which email address is registered to your profile.
Portal Features Available Upon Login
Once inside the member portal, users can access a variety of self-service management tools:
Update personal contact information and change privacy settings.
Track, review, and pay outstanding membership dues or event invoices.
Browse the internal member directory and register for upcoming association events with member-exclusive pricing.
