Creating a members-only job board page

Last updated August 5, 2026

Objective

Creating a digital career center is an excellent way to add tangible value to your membership. This guide explains how to embed and customize the Job Board Widget on your website and restrict its access so that it serves as an exclusive, member-only benefit.

Key Steps

Step 1: Create a Job Board Title

  • Open your page within the Recur Website Builder.

  • From the left-hand Content menu, drag a Heading element onto your workspace.

  • Type "Job Board" (or your preferred title), choose your font size, and set your layout alignment (e.g., Center Aligned).

Step 2: Drop the Job Board Widget

  • In the element panel on the left side of the screen, locate and click the Recur dropdown menu.

  • Scroll down until you find the Job Board widget.

  • Drag and drop the widget directly underneath your heading. The widget will instantly compile and show your active job database listings.

Step 3: Configure Privacy Restrictions

To protect this resource as an exclusive perk:

  • Ensure this specific page's access setting is explicitly designated as a Member Page Only. This forces non-members to log in or register before they can browse open roles.

Step 4: Customize Content Display & Filters

Click on the widget wrapper to open its properties panel on the left, where you can configure the following options:

  • Item Limits: Adjust the maximum number of roles to show (e.g., set to show up to 30 jobs).

  • Toggle Visual Data: Use the switches to show or hide details like Company Name, Location Type, Salary Range, Skills Tags, Posted Date, and the core Job Description.

  • Search Tools: Choose whether or not to display the built-in keyword Search Box and interactive Filter Chips.

Step 5: Adjust Text Placeholders and Pagination

  • Button Wording: Change the text of the primary call-to-action button (e.g., change "Apply Now" to "View Job").

  • Search Placeholders: Customize the search bar text prompt (e.g., "Find a job that's right for you...").

  • Empty States: Write a friendly custom message to display if no current listings match a user's search query.

  • Pagination: If you feature a high volume of jobs, turn on Show Pagination. This prevents excessive scrolling by breaking your list up into clean subsets of 5 or 10 roles per page.

Cautionary Notes

  • Spacing and Layout: Widgets dropped right below headings can look compressed. Use the Spacer content tool to inject a clean margin of white space between your title and the Job Board panel for a more polished aesthetic.

  • Database Dependent: The widget will only display jobs that have been created and marked active inside your primary Recur backend dashboard.

Tips for Efficiency

  • Monetization Option: Restricting the page to "Members Only" protects job seekers, but you can also choose to charge non-member corporations a processing fee via a separate Recur product form to post their open listings on your board.

  • Dynamic Adjustments: Any style edits made here dynamically match the global styling variables you established in your core Recur Theme Builder, keeping color tones and fonts perfectly branded.
