Recur Sites pages: templates
Last updated August 5, 2026
Objective
Creating a website from scratch can be time-consuming, especially for association leaders and volunteers. Page Templates in Recur Sites provide pre-built, professionally designed layouts that you can quickly populate with your organization's content. This guide covers how to select, customize, and publish pages using Recur's built-in template library.
Accessing the Template Library
You can review all available page templates provided by Recur directly from your dashboard:
Navigate to Pages > Templates on the left-hand sidebar.
Browse the built-in library, which includes pre-structured layouts such as:
Homepage Options: Classic Home Hero, Community & Media Homepage, and Event-Driven Homepage.
Core Pages: Blog Page, Career Page, Donations Page, Story & Mission, and Team & History.
Member & Event Pages: Event Landing Page, Events Calendar Page, Join / Membership Tiers, and Resources / Media Library.
How to Create a Page Using a Template
Step 1: Launch a Template
Go to Pages > All Pages on the left menu.
In the top-right corner, click Create Page and select New from Template.
Choose a category from the left navigation tabs (e.g., Home, About, Events, Membership).
Select your desired template (e.g., Classic Hero Home Page) and click Use Template.
Step 2: Customize Template Components
Once loaded onto your canvas, you can click into any section to edit text, colors, and layout styles:
Hero Banner Styling: Click on the hero section to adjust title text, subtitle colors, and structural styles. You can switch between 6 layout variations:
Single Hero
Carousel (allows you to add multiple rotating image slides)
Split Screen
Video Background
Minimal Centered
Offset Layout
Editing Data & Numbers: Click directly into stat boxes (e.g., "Our Impact") to update metrics and figures.
Updating Images: Select cards or image blocks, then choose Upload New or Browse Library to select photos from your media library.
Step 3: Preview and Publish
Click Preview at the top of the editor to inspect how your site looks in a live browser tab.
Once satisfied with your edits, click Publish Page in the top-right corner.
A green status indicator confirms that your page is now live on your website.
Cautionary Notes
Text Contrast: When applying templates, verify that font colors remain legible over background images or dark hero blocks.
Draft Status: Pages will remain invisible to public site visitors until you explicitly click Publish Page.
Tips for Efficiency
Fast Onboarding: Utilizing pre-built templates for complex layouts like Story & Mission or Membership Tiers saves hours compared to positioning individual grids and columns manually.
Custom Template Requests: If your association requires a specific page layout that isn't currently listed in the default library, you can import your own templates or submit a feature request to the Recur team.
