Recur Sites settings Pt. 2: SEO, Recur, Google Drive, general, site import
Last updated August 5, 2026
Objective
This guide completes the Recur Sites setup walk-through by covering advanced configurations: AI-Powered SEO, Recur Webhooks & Database Syncing, Google Drive Integration, General Settings (Branding, Stripe, Cookies, Analytics, and Subdomains), and Site Import.
1. AI-Powered SEO Settings
Recur Sites acts as an AI-driven optimization hub that automatically reads and structures your content so search engines (like Google or Bing) can index your association and present it to prospective members.
SEO Preferences & Metadata: Toggle AI optimization parameters on or off to help search crawlers understand your organization’s core mission.
Open Graph Image Defaults: Set default social media preview images. Whenever a member or visitor shares a link to your website on social channels, this image appears in the link preview card.
2. Recur API, Webhooks, & Database Syncing
Recur Webhook: Functions as a secure bridge to connect external web forms or custom applications directly to Recur. It automatically adds incoming leads or contacts to your database without manual data entry.
Database Sync Speed: By default, Recur automatically refreshes and syncs new products, events, and widgets between your main backend and your website every 15 minutes.
Forcing an Immediate Sync: If you created a new event or product in your main dashboard and need it to appear on your website immediately:
Go to Settings > Recur inside Recur Sites.
Click Sync Events, Sync Products, or Force Refresh.
3. Google Drive Integration
Connect your association's Google Drive account directly to Recur Sites by clicking Connect to Google Drive.
Once linked, you can display live files, directory listings, or photo collections directly on your web pages via Google Drive components.
4. General Settings
Navigate to Settings > General to configure core site operations and compliance parameters:
Site Branding: Upload your primary logo for the member portal and website, and upload a Favicon (the small logo icon that appears on the browser tab next to your URL).
Stripe Settings: Enter your Stripe Account ID to process online donations, dues, and checkout forms smoothly.
Cookie Preferences: Design and customize the legal cookie consent banner shown to first-time site visitors (including background colors, font styles, and display behaviors).
Google Analytics: Enter your Measurement ID to track site visitor traffic, bounce rates, and overall page performance.
Dropbox Embeds: Enter your Dropbox API key if you plan to embed Dropbox files directly into page components.
Publish Site URLs & Subdomains: Add or manage subdomains and custom domain configurations under the Publish Site URLs section.
5. Site Import
Migrating an Existing Website: Go to Settings > Site Import.
Enter your existing website URL (
[https://yourassociation.com](https://yourassociation.com)) to launch the automated site conversion wizard, which helps ingest existing content into Recur Sites.
Cautionary Notes
Sync Timing: If a newly created event or store product isn't showing up on your website's public listing right away, use the Force Refresh button instead of recreating the item.
Favicon Sizing: Ensure your favicon image file is square (e.g., 32x32 pixels) so it renders clearly in browser tabs.
