Last updated August 5, 2026
Objective
The Admin Settings tab in the Recur Member Portal provides site administrators with complete control over member navigation access, directory views, job board notifications, Continuing Education (CE) compliance tracking, daily email schedules, and user role management.
1. Portal Analytics & Overview Dashboard
The primary Admin Settings screen provides an instant, high-level summary across all portal modules:
Directory & Job Board: Active directory views, pending job reviews, and active job listings.
Community Discussions: Total active discussion topics and pinned threads.
CE Credits: Total Continuing Education credits earned across all members.
2. Directory Views & Custom Filters
Directory Views allow you to create pre-filtered search segments for your members (e.g., "Active Members" or "Board Members"):
Go to Admin Settings > Directory Views and click Add New (or Create View).
Enter a View Name and an optional description.
Filter Rules: Define logic rules (e.g.,
Contact Typeis equal toActive Member).Visible Fields: Check or uncheck contact fields to dictate which personal data displays in this specific view.
Member Filter Fields: Select which fields members are permitted to use when searching or filtering within this view.
Click Create View. Use the toggle switches on the main list to Enable or Disable specific views.
3. Job Board Admin & Email Notifications
Notification Email: Under the Job Boards section, enter your administrative email address and click Save.
Instant Alerts: Whenever a member submits a new career listing, Recur sends an automated email notification directly to your inbox so you can review and approve it immediately.
4. CE Credits & Compliance Management
The CE Credits section serves as a full-suite management hub for continuing education requirements:
Metrics & Activity: Tracks pending credits, approved credits, total awarded credits, unique member counts, active certificates, and revoked credits.
Credit Rules & Profiles: Define custom credit types, rule profiles, and specific compliance reporting periods.
Certificates: Generate, search, verify, or export formal member completion certificates to CSV.
Transcripts & Audit Logs: Search individual member transcripts to inspect their historical credits or review the full CE Audit Log to track all system modifications.
5. Portal Navigation & Visibility Settings
Navigate to Portal Settings to manage visibility and access rules:
Module Access Visibility
For each primary sidebar tab (e.g., Directory, Job Board, Community), set visibility to:
Active Members Only (Restricts access strictly to verified, paying members)
Everyone (Open to all portal accounts)
Hidden (Completely removes the tab from portal navigation)
Default Landing Page & Resource Sorting
Default Landing Page: Select which page members see immediately upon logging into the Member Portal.
Resources Sorting: Click the Up/Down Arrows next to Members-Only Resource pages to adjust their display order in the portal menu.
Targeted Membership Products
Category Match Toggle: When enabled, members only see membership purchase/renewal options that match their specific group category (e.g., employer profiles only see employer products).
6. Email Settings & Daily Digest Schedules
Organization Display: Customize your official association branding name as it appears in automated email headers.
Daily Digest Schedule: Set the exact daily delivery time for the automated Community Discussion Summary email sent to opted-in members.
7. Member Login Activity & Access Control
Login Tracking: View member names, emails, assigned portal roles, and their Last Login timestamps.
Role Management: Click Change Role to adjust user permissions (e.g., upgrading a standard member to an admin).
Password Resets: Click the Password Reset button next to any member record to dispatch an instant reset link to their email.
8. Group & Organization Management
Inspect, create, edit, or delete Community Groups and linked Corporate Organizations.
Manage structural group types or reassign member rosters directly from the administrative interface.
Cautionary Notes
Field Transparency in Views: When configuring Directory Views, unchecking fields hides standard contact data. Always test custom views using a test account to avoid accidentally exposing sensitive contact details.
Hidden Navigation Tabs: Setting a sidebar tab to "Hidden" disables access for all general members; ensure vital features like Finance remain accessible to active users.
Tips for Efficiency
Automated Job Queue Alerts: Set up the Job Submission Notification Email right away so pending job posts don't sit unapproved in the review queue.
Group Category Filtering: Enable the Targeted Membership Products toggle to keep checkout pages clean and prevent members from purchasing incorrect membership tiers.
