Using HTML code and AI generation to build email templates in Recur allows you to quickly create professional, modern, and customized campaign emails without needing manual design or coding expertise.

Step-by-Step Guide: Creating an HTML Email Template with AI

Step 1: Access and Duplicate an Existing Template

  1. Navigate to your Email Templates module in Recur.

  2. Locate a base template (such as the default Basic Email Template).

  3. Click the three dots (Actions menu) on the right side of the template row and select Copy.

  4. Click into the newly duplicated template copy to open the template editor.

Step 2: Extract Existing HTML Code

  1. In the template editor toolbar, locate and click the View Code icon (represented by < /> or two arrows with a slash).

  2. Highlight and copy the full block of HTML code currently rendering the template.

Step 3: Prompt AI to Custom-Design Your HTML Code

  1. Open your preferred AI tool and paste the copied HTML code.

  2. Prompt the AI with your specific campaign details:

    • Purpose/Topic: State what the email is about (e.g., an upcoming association event with key dates, times, and venue details).

    • Tone & Style: Specify the desired look and feel (e.g., professional, modern, friendly).

    • Color Palette: Request specific color schemes (e.g., bright accent colors, dark themes, or brand-specific hex codes).

  3. Ask the AI to generate a complete, revised HTML email template code based on your prompt.

Step 4: Import New HTML Code into Recur

  1. Copy the newly generated HTML code block provided by the AI.

  2. Return to your Recur email template editor.

  3. Click the Import Template icon (represented by an arrow pointing down to a line).

  4. Paste the new HTML code directly into the import window.

  5. Click Import in the bottom left corner to render the new custom design onto your template canvas.
