Viewing Stripe payments

Last updated August 5, 2026

Objective

This guide explains how to monitor and manage credit card transactions directly within Recur using the Stripe Payments dashboard. This feature allows administrators to track financial data, process refunds, and export reports without needing to log in separately to a Stripe account.

Key Steps

Step 1: Access the Stripe Payments Dashboard

  • Navigate to the top of the Recur dashboard and click on Revenue.

  • Scroll down and select Payments.

  • From the secondary menu, click on Stripe Payments to open the dedicated home screen for online transactions.

Step 2: Review the Transaction List

The home screen provides a high-level summary of every online payment made to your association. Each entry includes:

  • Date: When the transaction occurred.

  • Status: Clearly labeled as Succeeded, Refunded, or Partially Refunded.

  • Source: The name of the individual or organization that made the payment.

  • Amount: The total value of the transaction.

  • Navigation: Use the Next and Previous buttons in the bottom-right corner to browse through your full payment history.

Step 3: View Detailed Payment Data and Timelines

  • Click directly on any row to open the full details for that specific payment.

  • Timeline: View the exact timestamps for when the payment was initially set up and when it successfully processed (succeeded).

  • Direct Action: You can initiate a Refund directly from this detailed view screen.

Step 4: Filter and Search

Use the filter tools in the top left-hand corner to isolate specific transactions. You can filter by:

  • Amount: Find transactions within a specific price range.

  • Date: Locate payments from a specific day or period.

  • Status: View only succeeded or only refunded payments.

  • Payment Method: Filter by the specific type of card or digital wallet used.

Step 5: Export Payment Reports

To pull your data out of Recur for accounting or external review:

  • Click the Export button in the top right-hand corner.

  • Configuration: Select your desired Date Range.

  • Column Selection: Choose specifically which data columns (e.g., Date, Amount, Customer Name) you want to include in your exported file.

Cautionary Notes

  • Real-Time Data: While Recur syncs directly with Stripe, always ensure your internet connection is stable when viewing the "Timeline" to ensure you are seeing the most recent status updates.

  • Refund Finality: Once a refund is initiated and processed through this dashboard, it is sent to Stripe immediately for processing back to the customer's original payment method.

Tips for Efficiency

  • No External Login Required: Save time by using this dashboard as your primary financial hub; Recur automatically pulls all necessary Stripe information so you don't have to manage two different platforms.

  • Custom Reporting: Use the "Export" feature's column selector to create simplified reports for your treasurer, removing unnecessary technical data and focusing only on the amounts and dates.

  • Troubleshooting: If a member claims they were charged but you don't see a "Succeeded" status, check the "Timeline" in the detailed view to see if the payment was ever fully set up.
