Creating membership discounts for events

Objective
This guide explains how to add membership discounts to events in Recur, allowing members to receive special pricing when registering for events.
Key Steps
Step 1: Navigate to Events
Start from the home screen.
Click Engage.
Select Events.
Step 2: Create or Edit an Event
Click Add Event to create a new event, or open an existing event.
Enter the event details such as the name and event information.
Continue to Section 4 of the event setup.
Step 3: Enable Member Discounts
Locate the Product Member Discounts section.
Ensure the toggle is enabled.
This allows members to receive discounts during event registration.
Step 4: Set a General Membership Discount
Use the Member Discount field to apply a discount for all members.
Enter the discount as either:
A fixed dollar amount, or
A percentage discount.
Step 5: Apply Discounts to Specific Membership Types
Click Select Product to choose specific memberships.
Select the membership types that should receive the discount (for example, Gold or Silver memberships).
These selected memberships will receive the customized discount.
Step 6: Configure Discount Limits
Choose whether the discount should be unlimited or limited to a specific number of people.
If you set a quota, only the specified number of registrants will receive the discount.
Step 7: Set the Discount Value
Enter the discount amount as either:
A percentage, or
A fixed dollar amount.
For example, you may offer a 25% discount to the first 50 members who register.
Step 8: Configure an After-Quota Discount (Optional)
If the quota is reached, you can set an after discount for additional registrants.
This allows members who register later to still receive a smaller discount.
You can also leave this blank if you only want the first group to receive the discount.
Step 9: Save the Event Settings
Review your discount configuration.
Save the event to apply the membership discounts.
Cautionary Notes
Make sure the membership discount toggle is enabled, otherwise member discounts will not apply.
Double-check discount quotas to ensure the correct number of members receive the promotion.
Tips for Efficiency
Offer limited-time discounts to encourage faster event registrations.
Provide higher discounts for premium membership levels to reward loyal members.
Use quotas strategically to create urgency for early registrations.
